Some people with Type 2 diabetes say there’s something fishy about their medication: its smell.
The complaints have to do with metformin, a popular drug for Type 2 diabetes. A report in this week’s Annals of Internal Medicine says some patients have stopped using the medication because they think it smells like “dead fish,” and pharmacists say they can identify it by its “old locker-room sweat socks” odor.
